This one is deliberately not laminated. Many pet covers get their spill resistance from a plastic membrane bonded to the back, and the trade-off is a sheet that traps body heat under a sleeping animal. Here the barrier is the density of the chenille weave itself, so air still moves through the fabric. Chenille gets its structure from short fibres bound around a twisted core, producing a closed pile with no long floating threads.
