The build is three parts. A polyester face takes the traffic, a polyester cotton fill supplies the padding, and an anti-slip plastic cloth on the underside keeps the whole thing from traveling across the seat. In practice that stack does the quiet work that matters in a pet home: it puts a washable, replaceable layer between fur, dirt, light scratching and paw traffic and the upholstery you would rather not have to clean.
There are four sizes. The 17.72 inch square suits a single favorite corner or a chair seat, and the three longer pieces at 27.56 inches wide run down a sofa in lengths from 59 to 82.7 inches. Nothing anchors it to a specific piece of furniture, so the same mat works on a window seat, a daybed or the end of a bed once your dog decides that is the new spot.
