Whether a couch cover is worth owning comes down to whether it stays where you put it. This one uses a dotted silicone backing across the underside rather than straps or foam tuck rods, which is the reason it works on leather and on tight-weave upholstery where there is nothing for a strap to hook onto. The dots grip against the seat, so the cover resists creeping toward the front edge as people get up and down.

The face is chenille, soft enough that a cat will actually choose to sit on it, and that matters more than it sounds: a cover pets avoid gets pushed aside and stops protecting anything. The pile takes the fur, drool and snack crumbs that would otherwise reach your upholstery, and the irregular contrast stripe with its pom-pom trim breaks up the look of shed hair between washes instead of showing every strand the way a flat dark fabric does.

There are no straps to fasten, so it goes over a loveseat, a full couch or one section of a sectional in a single movement, and you can combine panels for an L-shaped layout.
