The pattern on this cover is woven in, not printed on. Jacquard construction builds the motif out of the weave structure itself, so it cannot crack, peel or wash off the surface the way a printed finish eventually does. The other thing you notice picking it up is the weight: this is a high-weight, dense chenille rather than a thin decorative throw, and that heft is what keeps it lying flat across a seat cushion instead of rippling up every time somebody sits down.
Density is the part that matters in a house with animals. A tightly packed chenille pile gives claws far less to hook into than a loose knit, and the same closed surface stops dust, hair and dropped crumbs from working down into the upholstery underneath. Spills sit on the face long enough to be blotted rather than sinking straight through, and the fabric wipes down quickly between full washes.
The backing is anti-skid, so the cover holds its position through a dog jumping up rather than sliding into a bundle at one end. Sizes run from a 27.6 inch square up to 43.3 by 70.9 inches, and there is a matching 17.7 inch pillow cover if you want the seat and cushions to read as one piece. Measure the seat run of your sofa first, arm to arm, and pick the length closest to it. The whole thing is machine washable and needs no ironing to settle back down.
